RVA’S HISTORY

WALKING TOUR

Richmond Liberty Trail

Connecting downtown Richmond’s points of history

Richmond Liberty Trail is a walking route that connects many of downtown Richmond's historic sites, attractions and neighborhoods, including 15 national historic landmarks. This 6.2 mile (10K) trail is marked with a logo painted on the sidewalk, and supplementary arrows that show you which direction to walk. There’s no real beginning or end to Richmond Liberty Trail. It’s all self-guided – a continuous loop intended for people who want to experience portions of Richmond's nationally significant history on foot. Walk portions of the route based on what interests you. For example, in Shockoe, the Richmond Liberty Trail connects with the Richmond Slave Trail and the Virginia Capital Trail.

Paper maps of the trail are currently unavailable. Please use the digital map below to find points of interest.
